Short-Term Stress Response of Juvenile Rainbow Trout Subjected to Two Different Rearing Densities

نویسندگان

چکیده

Juvenile rainbow trout Oncorhynchus mykiss were subjected to one of four treatments in a two-by-two experimental design: 1) fed at density 1.8 g/m3, 2) Fasted 3) 30.1 and 4) fasted g/m3. Blood glucose hematocrit measured 4, 6, 48, 168, 336 hours after placement the two rearing densities, with relative fin lengths organosomatic indices recorded hours. Glucose levels over time not significantly different among feeding treatments. Hematocrit also different. Total lengths, weight, hepatosomatic index, viscerosomatic any between high low densities. However, index was greater fish compared those fasted. The splenosomatic higher treatment. These results likely indicate no short-term stress response used this experiment interaction starvation density-related stressors.

Acute stress response in triploid rainbow trout

The purpose of this study was to determine whether triploid salmonid fishes differ from diploids in their hematological and physiological responses to an acute handling and confinement stress, induced by netting fish from their tanks and placing them in a bucket. Blood samples were Ž . collected from fish prior to the handling stress and at either 30 min rainbow trout or 20 and 40 Ž . min brook...

Effects of different culture densities on growth performance and stress, immune, and metabolic responses in rainbow trout

Determining the optimal culture density is necessary to improve fish performance and profitability. A total of 1350 rainbow trout with an average initial weight of 30±1.5 g were obtained. Then, the fish were randomly distributed in 12 fiberglass tanks and reared at densities of 15, 30, 45 and 60 kg/m3 for 60 days. The final weight, weight gain, and protein efficiency ratio were significantly hi...

Effect of Rearing at Different Densities and Dietary Supplementation with Vitamin E on Growth Indices, Survival and Carcass Composition in Fingerling Rainbow Trout (Oncorhynchus mykiss)

This study was conducted to investigate the effect of rearing at differing densities and dietary supplementation with vitamin E on growth indices, survival and carcass composition in fingerling rainbow trout in a 6-week trial. Rainbow trout juveniles with initial body weight of 9.6 ± 0. 69 g at two densities of 50 and 100 pieces per 50 liter were fed two diets with the same protein and fat cont...
